Oldham, Greater Manchester
A neglected area of a larger landscape design project in Oldham, in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, in the UK. Sitting in semi shade to the rear of the house and overlooked from the kitchen the client garden design brief, to create a picture to be viewed from the kitchen window. I set out to create a forest type garden creating the illusion of being a much larger space than it actually is. With the aesthetic that it could quite easily be a secret area in a large forest. I found the stone table and seats cubes viewed in the pictures in a reclamation yard covered in old tools and bits of machinery and not really for sale. They were the perfect pieces for the central area of the garden and really give the enchanted forest garden a focal point. So I made an offer and with the consent of the client secured them for the project.
